Creating Opportunity Through Basketball
The Cleveland Project expands opportunity through education and sport, empowering young athletes in Cleveland and Northern Ireland. We develop school-aged youth in Northern Ireland through basketball coaching, competition, and mentorship, using sport to foster growth and cross-community engagement. We support Cleveland’s student-athletes with postgraduate scholarships, enabling them to continue their education and playing careers overseas—while also serving as coaches and mentors in the Northern Ireland basketball program. Through the Ohio tax credit initiative, we provide educational resources for disadvantaged youth in Cleveland, ensuring brighter futures through access to opportunity.
By bridging basketball, education, and opportunity across Cleveland and Northern Ireland, The Cleveland Project opens doors for young people to grow as athletes, scholars, and leaders—creating a future where talent and ambition are never limited by circumstance.

🏀 The Cleveland Project Schools Programme is back for 2026/27!
We’re delighted to begin another exciting year of basketball in schools across Northern Ireland, giving young people the opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence, develop teamwork and experience the joy of being part of something.
Whether they are picking up a basketball for the very first time or already love the game, every young person is encouraged to join in, have fun and reach their potential.
A huge thank you to our dedicated coaches, teachers, partner schools and supporters who make this programme possible. We can’t wait to see the energy, friendships and memorable moments that the new school year will bring!

As we get ready for another busy year of The Cleveland Project Schools Programme, it was wonderful to receive this special shout-out from the BC Wolves Summer Camp.
Hearing that The Cleveland Project helped inspire one young player to begin his basketball journey—and that he continued it by attending the BC Wolves camp this summer—is exactly why we do what we do.

The BC Wolves camp brought young players of different ages and experience levels together at Cookstown Leisure Centre for a brilliant weekend of basketball development, competition and fun.
Led by Coach Rolandas Bartkus and BC Wolves National League player Vitalijus Stonevicius, the players developed their ball-handling, shooting, finishing, defence and teamwork through competitive drills, small-sided games and 5v5 basketball.
Congratulations to everyone involved in such a fantastic end to the summer—and thank you for sharing this lovely story with us! 💙🐺

We’re getting ready for the Cleveland Project Golf Classic at Elyria Country Club this Monday, August 31— and it’s shaping up to be a fantastic day. 💚

We were delighted to see Fergus Donnelly, Sean Muldoon, Sarah and Jack enjoying the fourball so generously donated by Portstewart Golf Club in support of our programme, earlier this year.

🏀 The final week of Summer Camp is underway at Lough Moss! 💚
After an incredible summer of basketball, we’re back where it all began for our final Cleveland Project summer camp of 2026.
It’s been a brilliant few weeks of drills, games, skills, competition, new friendships and plenty of fun — and there’s still lots more basketball to come before we officially call time on this year’s summer camps!
A huge thank you to every player, coach, parent and supporter who has been part of the journey this summer. You’ve made our seven camps across three venues something really special.

🏀 Looking back at Camps 5 & 6!
Another brilliant week of basketball wrapped up last Friday, with plenty of energy at Lisburn Racquets and Newforge Sports Complex.
This week was made extra special by our visiting coaches and players. A huge thank you to Coaches Juan and Alicia, who travelled from Molina with players to join us, Coach James from Ohio and to Coach John from Inverness Lions. It was fantastic to have different basketball experiences and perspectives coming together on court. 🙌
Across both camps, the players worked hard on their ball skills, shooting, defence, decision-making and game play — with plenty of teamwork, encouragement and fun along the way. 💪🏀
A big thank you to all our coaches who brought so much enthusiasm and knowledge to the week, and to every young player who turned up ready to learn, compete and improve.
